Why money makes the man in Kenyan politics

ImageThe win in the recent presidential elections by Uhuru Kenyatta, the son of the country’s founder Jomo Kenyatta and inheritor of the country’s biggest fortune, will maintain the status quo that in Kenyan politics it is money rather than policy that matters most. Kenyans historically vote along tribal lines and yet three candidates of the populous Kikuyu running in the presidential elections were practically ignored.
